Up the coast on PCH to Malibu Canyon. After a quick bathroom/snack break at Malibu Bluffs Park, up Malibu Canyon and continue on Los Virgenes, then west on Mulholland, around Malibu Lake (pit stop at Peter Strauss Ranch if needed). Grind up Rock Store Hill and fly down Kanan to PCH. Optional stop for lunch on the way back down the coast. A strenuous 61 miles.
ALTERNATE START AND ROUTE:
9:00 am, Malibu Bluffs Park
Drive and park at Malibu Bluffs Park. Wait for anyone coming from Marina Del Rey. Then up Malibu Canyon to Mullholland Hwy, as above, but continue on Mulholland past Kanan Dume all the way to PCH. Return on PCH to Malibu. For extra credit and a few more miles, George would like to go up Encinal to Mulholland, and back to PCH on Kanan or Las Virgenes.
